July 15, 2025 Symbio Bioculinary exhibited at the IFT FIRST Startup Pavilion in Chicago this July, showcasing its precision fermentation technology to thousands of food industry professionals. The Institute of Food Technologists' annual event is the food industry's premier innovation gathering, bringing together food scientists, manufacturers, and industry leaders from around the world.
The Startup Pavilion featured emerging food technology companies transforming the industry. Symbio presented its precision fermentation platform that converts food waste into valuable ingredients using engineered Aspergillus organisms.
"IFT FIRST was a fantastic opportunity to connect with partners from across the food industry and identify key areas in need of waste up-cycling technology" said Elliott Notrica, Founder and CEO. "We saw tremendous interest and had productive conversations with companies looking to retain value from their side streams."
The company's modular bioprocessing systems target major waste streams in baking, chocolate manufacturing, and other food processing sectors, offering scalable solutions for ingredient valorization.
